Kyle Larson Focused on Daytona 500

Kyle Larson entered the season with an extensive schedule. He prepared for a second consecutive Indianapolis 500 appearance while competing for a NASCAR Cup Series championship. He also carried management duties for the Kubota High Limit Racing sprint car series. Larson created that series in 2022 with his brother in law Brad Sweet, who is a six time national sprint car champion.

Daytona 500 Served as His Primary Focus

Larson placed total focus on the sixty sixth running of the Daytona 500, held on February 19th 2024. Before the event, the Hendrick Motorsports driver stated through Speed Sport that his attention centered only on the next task, which at that time was the Daytona Five Hundred.

Larson started the race in position seventeen and recorded an eleventh place finish. His teammate William Byron captured the victory for his first Daytona 500 win. Over the course of a demanding thirty six race schedule, Larson secured six victories, fifteen top five results, and eighteen top ten finishes, ending the year sixth in the final standings.

Larson Delivered the 2025 Cup Series Title

In 2025, Larson returned the Cup Series championship to Hendrick Motorsports after a period of Penske dominance. His Daytona 500 result that season was position twenty. Larson is currently in his off season preparation period.

His next competitive appearance will occur at the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. The event opens his schedule before regular season competition resumes.

The first points paying race of the twenty twenty six season will be the sixty eighth Daytona 500. The event is scheduled for February 15th 2026. FOX will provide national coverage beginning at two thirty eastern time. Live radio coverage will be available on MRN and on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

“I really just get focused on whatever is the next thing in front of me. And right now, it’s the Daytona 500, and that’s all I care about right now.” Larson stated
